Sneak Peek: Beach Bum Destination

Photobucket

Here are some snap shots of the Phuket's trip for now. You will see more photos and thorough reviews of the scenery, resort, food, island tour, budget airlines and outfits in the days or weeks to come. Hopefully the reviews of the resort, airlines and local tour operator in Phuket will be helpful to some of you who plan your future trip.

The trip was fun as well as exhausting from the heat and of course the little one. It was the first trip for five of us - my dad, my younger brother who flew in from Sydney to meet us, my husband, my little one and me.

Freakin' hot!!!!!

Hello from a far far away land, people! Long time, no talk. Yes I am still very much alive. Yes I am doing quite well. Yes it may look like i called this blog quit but I have not. Please excuse my absence without notice, especially my lovely ladies who kindly left thoughtful messages.

The last few weeks had been packed with trip preparations, things to finish at work and illness recovery before the trip, some of you may know what kind of "busy preparation" I meant when traveled with small children. It is even more challenging to keep a little person entertained on a 20+ hrs flight! So much to update and share with you all.

[First leg of the plane ride: 13++ hours from US to Japan with Continental/United]

Before we left the US awhile back, things didn't work out too good. One week before the trip, our little one and i got sick from allergies which eventually progressed to sinus infection. Worse for my little one, she almost had a pnuemonia. We all got well before the travel date. However my husband who thought he was safe got sick 3 days before the flight with a low grade fever. What a bummer!!! Not a good start.

[2 hrs 45 mins Layover at Narita; Shopping time!!!!]

We were pretty worried and paranoid the whole time that my little one would get sick again while on the plane but she didn't (THANK GOD!!). She did so good and we didn't feel that 13 hour flight from US to Tokyo was long which was amazing. The last leg from Tokyo to Bangkok which was only 6 hours 30 minutes felt like an eternity though because we were so darn tired from 24 hours of traveling + layover. A few days after we arrived, our little one got sick AGAIN so we took her to the doctor and got her started on antibiotics once more. Poor thing. Hope she gets well before we leave.

[Thank god she passed out so we could have some shut eyes moment before we landed]

We have been here for awhile and enjoyed every minute of it except for the heat. Today Bangkok's temperature registered right at 95F but it does feel like 100F!!!! We were literally sweating as soon as we landed at night and felt the summer heat. It has been freaking hot everyday since we arrived. I take a shower at least 2-3 times a day, as soon as i get out of a shower i start sweating again - no kidding!!! Houses over here in Thailand do not have a big AC unit which distributes cool air throughout the house, it is an individual and small unit which is installed in a single room/area so it looks like i am bathing in my own sweat..wahaha.

We just came back from Phuket yesterday. It was fun but exhausting, can't wait to share with you all.
