A "Blah" Moment

All bloggers know this unpleasant feeling we go through at one point or another - a “blah” moment in blogging. This blah moment appears to be making frequent visits a lot lately if you can’t tell already by my blogging frequency and content-wise. My posts used to be more personal with an edge, and I know they are not to be seen much as of late (oooh I have just made a rhyme – yipeee).

A lot of things happened in the past months in the realm of life, motherhood and many more and I want to write about them on this blog but can never seem to finish any of them. So many stories to be told, so many blah moments. Have you ever drafted something just to go blank half way? I have many drafts saved at this point due to that reason.
The other day, I was in a “wanting to blog” kind of mood. I decided to turned the computer on just to turned it off 2 minutes later – lol. What an inspiring writer I was! Thank god I am not a freelance writer nor a professional blogger who depends on income from blogging, otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to make any $$ when I experience a road block like this. And again, thank god this is a personal blog..a place where I can blog even when I don’t have anything informative to share…a pure sense of self satisfaction / stress reliever. This post seems to be out of place but let it be...let it be.

I am still pretty much on track with healthy eating and want to share some of my favorite things to eat while on a road to a healthier moi. Fresh fruits are something I am going to miss tremendously when winter arrives becaue selections will be very limited and they just don't taste as good :(

I try to go organics on particular fruits and veggies, one of them being strawberries.

Fresh Fruits Extravaganza - every Sunday, I preapre fruits for the week for our family. It is quite a chore but worth every effort. I usually eat fruits with greek yogurt for breakfast from Monday to Friday. A refreshing wayt o start my morning at work.

Current favorite brand of greek yogurt. I tend to change from brand to brand with yogurt.

1% lowfat regular milk for the hub and I. The DHA version belongs to the little one. I started drinking organic milk since I was pregnant.

Try to eat healthy when dining out. Grill fish taco with fresh veggies. Ummmm!!!

We spend quite a lot on grocery each week. It is one area I am willing to spurlge because I believe it is important to put good/healthy food into your body. I would rather spend high dollars on groceries (as long as we can afford to) rather than paying doctors/hospital bills.

  1. Yes, we all have blah moments! But still, this was nice to read about your healthy lifestyle! And that is a great idea to package all the fruit for the whole week - you are one smart mama! :)

  3. I get blah moments too, especially when all I've been doing these days is eat, watch tv, surf internet and sleep. ;) I'm totally with you when it comes to grocery shopping. Nowadays, I go for free range eggs and organic fruits/veggies whenever possible as they're readily available (and affordable!) in Australia. I can't say the same for Singapore though, and I do wish they'll bring in more organic food at pocket-friendly prices in time to come.

  4. i hear you on the blogging blahs... i've been feeling that lately too. i sit down ready to blog but then i just draw a blank and don't feel like it anymore.

the only thing i do blog about are my fitness updates but i'm sure my readers are bored of that. i'm hoping that the fall will bring some inspiration (i love the fall) so i can write some fun things.

ps - healthy eating is the best...i can't believe how much garbage i used to eat!

  6. It's true that all bloggers go through this phase Nelah. And sometimes you just have to ride through it until you're inspired again. I've actually been cooking up some great blog ideas lately but can't execute them since I haven't been well so I'm limited to posts where I can write less. Anyway it's fun to read about your healthy eating. I believe in paying more for good healthy food as well. Afterall it is going in your body and helps your wellbeing. I love that there's so much more yummy fruits to eat in the summer.

  7. Totally get it Nelah! I'm coming up to a year of blogging and have to hand it to people who've been blogging longer, it's not as easy as it looks! Do it when you want, when I can't be bothered I don't as it's also just a hobby for me, there are no financial interests! Fruits look dish, I've also been munching on exotic fruits of late! xx

  8. We all have our blah moment. Someday I woke up thinking about what to write about and then when I finally sit down in front of the computer, I can't seem to remember what I was thinking about or have write block. Blogging must be fun thing so take all the time you need.

I love your health updated. I serious need to start eating health. I like your idea of preparing the foods for the weeks.

  9. Coincidentally like you,I've lately made the same changes: eating healthier and trimming my wardrobe.
The first one is more successful than the latter! LOL. But I have seen an improvement in my buying habits now.

  10. I've read somewhere that it's actually healthier to drink full cream milk. The low fat is very watered down. I need to get back into the fruit and yoghurt eating mojo again. Fell off the bandwagon recently and felt a lot more groggy and lethargic since.

As for the blogging bit, you're more honest than most of us. I've moaned enough to the hubs and friends about how difficult it is to blog. A few friends asked whether they should start blogging. I told them that they must prepare for the long haul or else don't bother starting it.

  11. Excellent! I'm going to miss all the fresh fruit also. I love the way you put them in containers. I must remember that. It's an excellent tip! I just started eating Greek yogurt! I'll be doing a post on the various kinds in a future blog post. I've never tried organic milk. Must do that!!!
