How confident are we, as women, in our own skin? How comfortable are we to go all natural/show our appearance in public without any makeup (no eyebrow pencil, lip gloss whatsoever)? On the level of 1-10 with 1 represents the least, how would you rate your comfort level? Do you feel like the society we live in today has a certain level of expectation? Women have to have certain look or weight in order to be perceived as "attractive" and "beautiful"? Models on the cover of magazines always look "flawless" and "perfect" in every angle. Flaws are strange subjects in their world but flaws are part of reality. Perfectionism is unreal.

I am so looking forward to this week because I will only have to work 3 days (Yippieeee!!!!) Black Friday....Here I comeeeeeeee

Happy Thanksgiving Nelah! I am happy for you and jelly at the same time! I wish I was off for most of this week!
ReplyDeleteYes, I would tho I wish I'm more skilled in make-up. I always use masscara but other than that, most of my blog photos are unmade (not very good at Applying foundation) and untouched (no photo editing skills!). Oye!

I'm actually pretty comfortable going out without make-up, although I never go outside during daytime without sunscreen if I can help it. Ever since I started using undereye concealer regularly though, I've been reluctant to go without it too now because I didn't used to realize how tired and worn out I look without it.
ReplyDeleteYour skin looks so flawless and I love the Burts Bees Pomegranate Oil balm! I have 3 of them in several places so I'll never go without lol.
You look flawless with or without make up. You have such great skin. I wish I have more confident in my own skin. I don't wear heavy make up at all. But I have to put something on before I go out the door unless I am going grocery shopping :) Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I can't wait to spend a long weekend.
ReplyDeleteYOu are gorgeous.....:)

I rarely wear makeup (because of both laziness and a lack of knowledge about properly makeup application). You always look so put together (in spite of the fact that you have a small toddler to chase after).
ReplyDeleteYay for black friday (I might finally participate this year), can't wait to see what you'll find.
Nelah ~ you have super gorgeous eyes!! They look almost greenish-hazel in the photos! And to answer the post title.. no I will not go au naturale hahaha! Makeup is a MUST for me ;) Yaaaay for 3 day work week!!! Have a super duper Thanksgiving!!
ReplyDeleteWow, your skin is flawless!!! I hate you for making me super envious... haha! Just kidding :)
ReplyDeleteGreat blog!!! Love love love it! Simple but pretty just like you!
I have an 'Au Naturale' photo too! (link)

you look great in those pictures.
ReplyDeleteoh wow...thats a tough-y....hmmm it depends on my mood. sometimes i'll leave the house without makeup, but for work i definitely need to put it on. i look super young without and i'd prefer to look older so my clients take me more seriously!
You have amazing skin and beautiful eyes! For me, I always put on makeup for work because I look super tired without it. My boss even asked me if everything was ok when I didn't have any makeup on one day!
ReplyDeleteFor weekends though, I'll sometimes give my skin a break and go sans makeup. My friends all know what I look like without makeup so I don't mind.
And Happy Thanksgiving!! Black Friday here I come!! :)

I agree with Kileen! Your skin is flawless!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't wear too much makeup as it is so I am totally fine with no makeup...hubby prefers me without..LOL
I think I look crazy with no makeup! Gotta have mascara for sure!
Personally, I go without makeup most days and only put on a bit for special occasions. I guess that puts me on a level 10, but it really isn't because I'm confident... it's more so because I am lazy in the mornings and value sleep much more than getting ready ;) I really should put on makeup though, or at least concealer because I have really horrible skin -_- I also think because I work with mostly men, there really isn't the same amount of "pressure" to look good if say, I worked in the fashion industry.
ReplyDeleteYou have such flawless skin and is so pretty without makeup :)
Your skin is gorgeous -- you're glowing even without makeup! My comfort level is probably a four ... I feel better with at least something on, even if foundation or just a bit of cover up. I suppose it really depends on how it's behaving at the given moment.
ReplyDeleteLadies: my camera must have tricked you. If you grab a magnifying glass and examine my first pic closely, you will see all flaws there :)
ReplyDeleteI generally don't weat a lot of make-up on work days. Just dabbing some sunscreen, filling my barely-there- eyebrow and applying lipgloss, I am out the door. I always wake up too late to paint my face.
i'm ok with going au natural. i barely put on make up anyway. just a bit concealer under the eyes, face powder and blush. sometmes add eyeliner and mascara.. just because i'd love to get some more extra sleep than spend it on putting make up. (but i love makeup though. how ironic. haha)
ReplyDeleteanyway, i just happened to pass by your site. come drop by my blog and hope you follow it too if you liked it! thanks dear!

I used to wear makeup EVERY single time I'm out but ever since I found my new Bf, I've become more and more confident of my own face (without makeup) and I don't wear makeup now unless I want to (not because I feel I need to). However, I always want to play with my makeup lol
ReplyDeleteI've just found your blog and I'm happy I did, I find myself identify with some things you write. But as for makeup, I don't wear it everyday, somedays if I didn't sleep (which happens a lot because I study architecture so I'm running with time always) in that case I may use concealer and maybeee mascara but except for going out or an special ocassion I always go through life as we said "a cara lavada". xx Flora
