Oh my god - it took me two hours just to do this post. The darn computer really gave me a hard time tonight!! Take a deep breath, count 1-100 and I am still angry lol. It has been a while since we returned from Bangkok and I FINALLY felt motivated to unpack our four suitcases. It was literally like opening Christmas presents in February. There were some purchases that I didn't remember buying and of course a few which I feel regret buying and have no idea why I bought them. Simply because I got carried away with the amazing prices and designs!
I guess my style this year will be all feminine and girlie because I hoarded tons of ruffles, bows, and flowers like a mad woman. Although I absolutely LOVE and am OBSESSED with accessories, I had to force myself not to buy too many because I still have tons of them sitting unworn somewhere in this house.
Shoes..shoes I love you!!!

Lovely earrings
Last but not least, thank you so much for the new bloggy friends for adding my blog as one of your reading materials and taking the time to write such kind comments. You all are one of the most important reasons that keeps me blogging, rambling and complaning haha. I know I have not been too good as far as replying to comments but I will try to do better. Please always feel to email me or leave your question(s) here and I will try to get back with you asap.
One of the lovely follwers "Sqeeze the Pug (she has an awesome blog, if you heart Chanel and high end designer handbags, shoe and clothes make sure to stop by. She is one stylish, classy and sophisticated lady. I love her style and luxurious purchases!)" would like to know the reason I named my blog "52newdays". After the birth of my first and only baby girl (in 2009), I was totally lost in the wonder world of motherhood. I focused so much on being and trying to be a good mother that I forgot about everything else in my life.
It may sound crazy but it's true. I gave up pretty much everything I usded to do before my little was born and entirely focused on my new role as a mother, a wife and a full-time working woman. Taking care of a baby can be very pleasant but stressful at the same time. (and oh no I have NOT even begun to think about having a second one yet!) I was totally stressed out without realizing it. It took over a year to see the light and I knew something had to change before I added more pressure to my life and lost my sanity. I realized that in order to raise a happy child, I had to be a happy mother. I determined to make time for myself at least once a week to find my long lost and new passions and that's how I came up with 52newdays. This blog is my outlet, my quiet corner, my santuary, my getaway and my moment :) Also, the camera I use is Nikon D3100.

I was rather drawn to your blog by the description on your profile page. I used to love being a young mummy but I got married at a reasonable age which cancels my chances of being a young mummy. Now that I’m much more mature, I feel that motherhood can wait. Even though I would love to have a baby soon (before I hit 30 which is really soon), I’ve still got lots to achieve before a little one comes along. Looking after a baby would really put a stop to achieving all my other dreams coz I know that I would want to be the best mother and wife I could ever be. This would definitely require huge personal sacrifices. Hence, it’s rather interesting to read about your experience.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, your buys from Bangkok are lovely. I love all the bracelets.
LOVE all the beautiful photos Nelah...the shoes...the gorgeous jewelry...great heartfelt post:)
ReplyDeleteit's really a lovely reason, i'm just a girl and probably i dont fully understand how stressful being a full time mother, wife, working lady could be, but, keep blogging!
ReplyDeletehaving a little personal corner is really helpful probably :)

Jo: I had my little one in my late 20's so I am not a young mommy for sure. I couldn't imagine being a mother at such young age personally (but everyone is different, some may be ready and are more mature) while there may be some advantages to being a young mom (perhaps having more energy to keep up with an active toddler) but I wouldn't have enough patience. It is stressful at times when you realize you are raising a little person and you are responsible for her life and well being. Glad to hear that you take the time to accomplish goals in your life because it really is harder when you are a mother (not that it is impossible though, everything just takes longer and more efforts). I am sure you will be a wonderful mommy when time comes :)
ReplyDeleteCollette: thank you..I wanna be a beautiful and hot mama like you when I am your age.
Peach: thank you, yes having a little corner helps tremendously and I am glad I found the blogging community. Being a mother is one of the best things and life changing moments that has happened to me. Yet it is one heck of a duty that stays with you 365 days, very demanding, exhausting but rewarding when you see a smile on that precious little face.
Love the bracelets and the shoes! And if I'm being honest, also the cake haha! I totally know what you mean by buying things then regretting it. I impulse-buy a lot lol. You sound like one wonderful mother who puts her kid first :). And you are one sexy mama! Ha-cha-cha ;).

Sorry for having to keep leaving my name and link in the comment or you wouldn't know who this is because I don't use blogspot lol. Don't know if you could allow the Name/URL option so I don't have to?
Really cute photos, I love the bracelets, especially the one with the pink rose.

Looks like you've got a lot of goodies from home. Those earrings are so cute. I also love all the shoes. I can't wait to see how you incorporate them into the outfits.
ReplyDeleteDear Nelah,
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking the time to explain the reason behind your page title 52newdays. It is such a beautiful story behind this curious number. Although I haven't experienced motherhood first hand, my best friend recently had hers and I could see (like what you said) "motherhood turned her life upside down" and changed things drastically.
I could see that you have a passion for fashion and have a good taste in the accessories and items that you have acquired. They are all very feminine.
Im even more intrigued that you made yourself this sanctuary with a mission of finding the right balance to your life and possibly, a dose of sanity. If you havent mention, I doubt any of us would have guessed.
I hope you continue to keep on posting not only with the aim of doing things that you truly enjoy and like... Because little did you realise that I (and I'm sure most, if not all of your faithful readers too) enjoy seeing and reading your fashion take on accessories, shoes and what not.
p/s: Im so touched that you made an honourable mention of my corner. I never expected such kindness. So, thank you...
Chain and ribbon are a great combo. Beautiful post!

Elle: you would have so much fun if you could go. I wish you could be my shopping buddy when I shopped at that one mall which has 2,000 shops inside!!! Girl, we shall shop until we drop!
Cee: I love those bracelets too. I spent forever trying to decide which ones to get. They were all pretty. Wish I had more $$$$
Judy: that pair of earrings was purchased in Bangkok, Thailand. They are also available in gold.
Nathaliz: they are cute, aren't they? For some reason they remind me of Marc Jacobs' design.
