Mixing three differnt textures (ruffles / lace / leather), I called it my triple treats. I experimented this ensemble yesterday but decided to put a pair of pants on (and changed my shoes as well) and headed out for work. Somehow, a leather skirt does not seem appropriate for most offices in general, except for those who work in the fashion industry - a fashion editor perse. I love leather skirt because it has this edgy look and is sassy.
I think I could tone this outfit down by switching to a different pair of shoes, perhaps a pair of classic black pumps but I do not have ones (duh!). You know I have always loved seeing women in classic pumps but I personally don't like wearing them myself. I prefer open toe shoes simply because my feet can't breath and eventually stink (ewww - yuck!!!), just not very practical for me.

  1. The leather skirt is so hotttt. Whew! I'm loving the mix and match of feminine to edginess. They play off one another so nicely.

I'm the opposite when it comes to shoes. As much as I adore the look of peeptoes (I think I own one pair), my toes look funny, lol. So I tend to stick with closed toe or all open.

  3. So many pretty details here, Nelah. I love that heavy bracelet with the vibrant blue. That's funny you prefer open toe - I prefer closed toe so then I don't have to worry about always keeping my pedicure in line, lol!

  7. Cee and Jean: trust me, I would LOVE closed toe shoes but somehow my feet get sweaty real fast and they create unpleasant smell (yuck and yikes). Perhaps there is a solution for sweaty feet out there.

Susan l, Flower Child Beauty, Irrisistable Icing: thank you :0)

Dale: I love it too. It kind of gives a cooling effect to the eyes. Good for summer. I have this top in black too, I save it for fall and winter.

ShinyPrettyThing: Thanks girl :) I am still learning and experimenting with layrering and dressing in general. I think I like this combo myself.

  8. Loving the mixture of textures! I'd have to agree with you that I think a leather skirt might not be work appropriate, but I still love everything about this outfit - especially of course the ruffles and lace - can't get rid of the girlyness in me :P
