You Are So Darn Annoying~*

The most anticipating topic some of you have been dying to read is finally here, folks. The "Annoying People of Blogsphere". Be sure to add and give me your two or three cents in the comment section, I can't wait to see what you have to share.

1)       Anonymous or "Annoy- mous": there are two kind of anonymous from my observation. First group goes to those who give out sincere comments but do not wish to reveal their identity which is absolutely fine. Second group, bad...bad anonymous. These people are such losers that they hind behind the screen and use anonymous status to verbally attack or sabotize other bloggers they personally hate. That is such a hate crime!! I have yet to come across any in my blogging experience but from what I see on other blogs, these annoy-mous are purely and utterly disgusting. Why don't you confront with your identity?!

2)       People who hate: there are this kind of people everywhere whether in real life or on the net. It is a viral disease. You know there are times when I don't agree on what other bloggers say or do, or if I don't' like this certain blogger I just stop visiting their blogs and don't say a thing. Don't let that feeling of hate and jealousy eat you up PEOPLE! There is so much more to do in YOUR OWN life than creating negativity around yourself. If the girl owns a Chanel or a Birkin bag and you do not have one, do not call her as a rich whore. People are not born equally but we can make a choice in life. Use that blogger as your inspiration, work hard and save. If her blog is more successful than yours, work hard on yours. Don't whine..don't say you can't do it..don't blame the world for not giving your blog a shit. Read Collette's tips below and you can bring your blog to the internet highway. If that blogger is more beautiful than yours, remember you are unique and you are beautiful in your own way. Take the time to discover your beauty, bring that out and shine. Stop the internet hate crime and bullying NOW!!

3)        Follow me..and I will follow you: DAAAAMN IT!..just follow me, okay?! Good grief!! You are really annoying.

4)       Follow me today, stop following me tomorrow: well I have to be honest on this one. I do this one on occasion. To me, I don't follow every single blog I come across but when I do follow someone I usually take the time to comment because I want to connect with them. I usually wait a week, if they don't visit my blog then I stop following because I feel that they don't want to connect with me. However, I do have a lot of people on my own blog. Somedays I gain 2 followers, the next day I lose 5. I normally take the time to reply to every commenter by visiting their blogs (if they leave me comment). So I don't know what's going on, it can be frustrating and discouraging. If you are not "genuinely" interested in my blog, please don't follow me to begin with. I want to connect with people who are as excited to know me as I am excited to know them. Don't follow me just to because.

5)       One word commenter:"nice", "gorgeous", "beautiful!","great outfit!". Most likely, these commenters don't even read the damn post. They just comment and leave their blog URL. You know I don't mind at all when fellow bloggers leave their blog URLs at the end of their comment but be a bit more sincre and courteous to a blog owner. If you leave such short word like that, chances are "I don't even want to click your url to visit your damn blog!" It is all about "content", PEOPLE!! When you leave thoughtful comment, a blog owner or readers are interested in what you have to say about the topic and want to know you more. That's how I "select" people to follow that way.

6)       Comment for the sake of commenting: have you come across someone who always say "the nicest thing all the time even when it is not necessary" that you feel a bit ridiculous? One time my fellow blogger "Kim of Sassy Up Town Chic" said, these peole will say "beautiful" even when you put a chicken on your head. JUST ridiculous.

7)       USE ALL CAPS TO COMMENT FROM THE BEGINNING TIL THE END OF SENTENCE: what the heck is that for? To get some sort of attention? Man, people just do whatever it take. We all want attention but lord please do with class and grace.

Okay ladies, now it is your turn to tell me what kind of people in Blogsphere bug the crap out of you :)

  1. LOL. Oh Nelah...I love this post. It speaks to me in every way. I completely agree and can relate with all your points especially #1 and #2. It's truly amazing how many "anon" haters there are. If you hate me so much, stop freaking logging on to my blog. And if you don't like my blog, why are you taking the time to leave a negative comment? We are all only human and can only take so much.

I don't think people realize the time and dedication it takes to blog and we put ourselves out there in the blogging world (which is already scary). I am who I am and I will not change for anyone. If you don't like me- so be it.

Thanks for the awesome post :D

  2. LMFAO Nelah! HAHAHAHA Oops, I'm using all caps! HAHAHAHA Let me respond by numbers! :)

    1. "Anonymous Hater Commenters" are COWARDS! They won't confront you revealing their TRUE identity, because they KNOW what they're saying is CRASS. Plus, they don't want backlash from the one they're bashing or their friends. They'll put that stupid crap on YOUR page, but don't want that chit on theirs. Luckily, this has NOT happened to me.

    2. If I don't like something, I don't comment. I just move on! But so many people, can't do that! Instead of walking away, I call it SABOTAGING YOUR POST! They write all this negative crap in a comment to destroy what you've said and bring down your post. I've never been jealous of what anyone has. I admire it!!! I always say how can I get that! What do I need to do to achieve that! I find them inspirational. There is a generation out there, that wants everything NOW! RIGHT AWAY! PRONTO! Unless you're super rich, that's not gonna happen. It takes time and hard work. Even then, with THIS economy, it's hard to achieve. Be gracious and thankful for the things you have. SO many are without! Jealousy, Greed, Hate are ruining this world.

3 and 4. There's no need for it. If a person likes your content they will seek you out and remain faithful. It doesn't take me long to figure out a fairweather blogger. I just deleted some more yesterday! HAHAHA If I've been taking my time writing you comments for 3 weeks and you haven't stopped to say HI once...you have got to go! Sorry, but it's a two way street. Like Santa Claus, I know who has been naughty and nice.

    5. Take time to write a sentence!!! It doesn't take much, but it's valued a whole lot more. Besides trying to make it to all of your followers, companies can truly see blogs for what they are. If there is no interaction and you just have a bunch of skitter skatter viewers that means nothing. I look at some blogs with all of these one word comments and ask what did the readers actually get out of this post. We have conversations on my blog! LOL

    6. LOL Nelah! You remembered that comment! HAHAHA It's true though! You could wear a chicken on top of your head and a gazillion folks will tell you it's nice. It's sad! Again, if I don't like something I won't mention it. I'll skip all over that item. And you need to have tough skin. Just because YOU like it, doesn't mean everyone else will. If you get a bunch of 'I like your shoes and belt', well guess what... they don't like your dress! BUT, at the end of the day it's about YOU!!! NOT OTHERS!!! If you like that dress, but didn't get the comments you want STILL WEAR IT! People are merely giving their opinions. However, I will not be mean and tell someone I don't like this or that. Unless they ask me their opinion.

    7. I don't use caps throughout a post, but as you can see I will emphasize words to get a point across. Trust me I don't want to be seen, but I am very black & white. People either Love me or Hate me. Usually there's no inbetween. I'm nice, but I don't stand for any crap. I wasn't born yesterday and I've experienced a lot in life. People have disappointed me. So I really try to be as direct as possible. I can see through FLUFF! HAHAHA

Have a good weekend Nelah! Great post girl! :D

  3. Ahhh the post I have been waiting for! I totally agree that you brought up some great points! I am tired of 1 word comments and have started to set a line. I get over 70+ comments per post and so I am getting to the point where if the comment is less than a sentence, or it is not a coherent sentence I am not visiting. I am not being a b!tch but simply I am at the point where I don't have time to load your page and comment. The all caps, I am sure we've all been spammed by the Indonesian blogger who write in all caps a 2 paragraph comment that if u follow her she will follow u and will promote your blog, and so forth... Finally, some bloggers just have it better than others. I live in Chicago the city known for deep dish pizza. This isn't the #1 fashion capital in the US. I don't have any connection to the fashion world, no friends in media. Am I slightly envious that some bloggers out there who have been around for as long as I have, have blogs that generate more traffic than I do? Sure...do I think I work less harder than they do? Absolutely not... I can only do the best I can with what I have... Excellent post!

  4. haha this post made me Laugh Out Loud just because it's so true! I agree with all of the comments above. I'm glad you wrote this and I think this is the post that all bloggers should read!

I just dont understand why people have time to write a comment with less then 5 words!!! I too only like to visit blogs that I want to connect with and there are only a handful that I visit daily.

YOu need to write most post like this Nelah! Have a great weekend!

  5. AMEN sister!! (and you already KNOW how I feel about #3) lol....all great points here Nelah....Bravo!!!

  6. Hahahaha! *wipes tears from my eyes* Best.Post.Ever. Nelah, you have such a way with words. Some of the types of people you mentioned don't bother me much, but from reading your descriptions and hearing your frustration has gotten me all worked up, lol!

One type of commenter that annoys me is people who leave their url, giveaway, etc etc after leaving a comment. Sometimes it's longer than the comment they left!

    4) I think it's so hard to connect with people, and often times it's one-sided (at first). I hate to say it, but I feel like if you want to connect with someone, you have to put in more work initially. Leave more than one comment so the blogger gets to know you. If you still don't hear back, then yeah, they probably don't want to get to know you. I think this is especially true on the really popular blogs... I mean, they get so many comments everyday, how do people stick out?

  7. Nelah, this is the perfect friday post. Full of truth, humor and sassiness. There's so much that I want to say but will condense my verbal diarrhea into a few sentences. Basically some people are idiots, i can't believe that they judge the value of their blogs by how many followers they have, and think that it's okay to say 'can we follow eachoter'? It's kind of like dating, waiting to see who will make the first move. Will they follow me first, will they follow me after I follow them? Ridiculous. And I am guilty of your last comment- however, would like to preface that by saying that i use caps when I am REALLY REALLY EXCITED. So please, forgive me. This post should go into your hall of fame posts. It's truly awesome :)

  8. Hahah I was definitely looking out for this post and you definitely hit the nail on the head for all your dot points :) Those people that comment one word comments drive me insane. And the Follow me and I will follow you.. is soo superficial. Great read! haha

  9. Lol wow you've outdone yourself with this post! I think you've found your very own niche - these blogging posts are hilarious and so true - I am still learning about it all and you Nelah are my new point of call :) x

  10. This is a great post Nelah! Very honest and truthful.
I personally haven't encountered #1 or #2 but it annoys me so much seeing people leave hateful comments. I mean, don't waste anyone's time! Just move on!
And #5!! I hate it when people don't really bother with making comments about the actual post but focus more on why you should 'follow' them or advertise their own blog.
I'm really glad you threw all these points out there! Awesome, AWESOME post! :D

  11. Hi Nelah,

I've been receiving several comments from a blogger that at first sounds sincere, with their giveaway link, but looks sincere, until I realized it's a generic but customized comments she sends to just about everyone. Hahaha!
You know, like: "Another cute post, dear! You look great in these pics, as usual. Btw, I have a giveaway... link link link"
And she commented like 3 times with the exact similar lines. It's not so annoying though, instead it made me laugh, though I didn't publish her comment, hehehe..

  12. Dear Nelah,

Personally, I dont really mind the number 3-7. They are pretty harmless and they dont particularly bother me...or possibly because I am GUILTY (yes, in CAPITAL ANNOYING LETTERS) of some of them. Sometimes, I feel like the ANNOYING one because many occasions, readers have tried to connect with me but because I rarely blog (both posting and writing comments and responding to comments) and have failed the possibility of the connection completely. Having said that, despite long hiatus(s- is there a plural word for this??), there are always the handful of bloggers that I have pretty much memorised their URL for handy visits during the rare valuable spare time.

Speaking of No 1 & 2, I have had the personal experiences of both on several occasions. Some can be very hurtful and worse when they are anonymous because it feels like you have been slap in the face but dont know who the F*** did it and why. The first time an anonymous left a nasty message, I sort of went into "depressed" mode. But after a few occasions and deep reasoning, I figured out that they are not worth fretting on and should just let them brush me over. I sort of reasoned why they did it, such as because of their own insecurities.

Haha, yes, I still clearly remember Kim's comment about the chicken on the head is Nice.
Absolutely nice! AND yes, if they like your shoes and belt but made no mention about the dress...it definitely means, they hate the dress. (total cracker)

  13. Great post, I actually agree with several of the points you made. I'm not one to do any of those things or at least I don't think I do since I find those habits annoying.

I don't mind people leaving me their blog name in their comment since it gives me a chance to check out their blog but I get more annoyed when they're pushing their giveaway since it's the same spam comment on 50 other blogs. Trust that people will join your giveaway, you don't have to promote it aggressively everywhere.

I'm all about passive blog promotion, where I leave my link simply in my forum signature or when I comment I make sure that my comment is linked to my blog. People will like and follow your blog if you have interesting content that they are interested in, no need to put "check out my blog" in every post, that's more likely to turn me off.

And finally I dislike "giveway" blogs, blogs that only post about giveways so they can get that extra entry. Ugh! Seriously people who join blog giveways for "bloggers" and add no content or contribution to the blogging world irk me. I would rather lost all those followers period, it disgust me that people enter giveaways without adding any substance to a great community.

Ah! Sorry for the essay of a post, this got me really thinking and I may want to do something similar in the future now ;)

  14. Sweet Nelah! Evil Nelah! I think I like evil Nelah. "DAAAAMN IT!..just follow me, okay?! Good grief!! You are really annoying." I like this!

Ok, this would be a very short comment. Yeah so unlike my usual style right? Coz truth to be said, my eyes are barely opened so I think I would come back to write a thesis here or probably on my own blog as a post. I know, I've been saying I wanna do a post like this... I wish I could buy time.

  15. only two things on the list annoys me. #3 and 4. and thankfully no haters as of yet on my blog. but really, it makes me kind of sad when i lose a follower(s)! sometimes i get pretty curious as to who it was that unfollowed.

and of course, the people who ask for a follow back. like them following my blog is supposed to be a favour of some sort! just. NO!

    ReplyDelete
  16. LOL Nelah! This is a good one! I really don't like it when they say follow me, I'll follow you. Sometimes, we are just not clicking, and I don't want that kind of pressure! Luckily, I haven't gotten any haters yet!

I used to reply to all my comments on my own blog, but I started stressing out because then I would run out of time to visit, check, and comment on other blogs. Finally, my husband asked me if I thought that everyone wanted a reply back -especially the one word comments like nice! So, I've decided to visit the blogs that I like and comment! Anyways, that was a tangent about one liners. But that's how I've been dealing!! xo

  17. i completely understand your rant here.... I sometimes feel that way. Especially for one or two worded comments but then I kinda pop onto their page and return the same favour :P I don't get the following part, why on earth would they un-follow you though?! I am in agreement with you when it comes to the idea of "follow-you and I'll follow me" they must be pretty desperate about it huh! Well the funny thing is I prefer reading and suporting new blogs, usually have very few "followers".
