New Love: Orange!

Is it so obvious that orgage is my favorite color at the moment? After days and weeks of wrapping myself in mostly casual (a.k.a. lazy) outfits with no makeup and messy hair, I feel it is about time to navigate away from those lazy days and put more thoughts/efforts into the clothes I wear. Clothes and makeup have a lot to do with how women feel towards herself. Playing a dressing game can bring such joy, power, confidence and positive feeling.

I personally think it is important that women take good care of her health and her look regardless of age and status. My boss who is a 65 yeas old lady seriously looks much better than me in every way. She looks beautiful for her age, her attitude and fresh fashion sense make her look forever young. Her appearance in public always looks so put together. She looks great even when she is sick. One thing that my mother has always reminded me is that “Women should never give up on taking care of herself, it is even more important especially after you have a child”. We tend to dedicate all of our time, energy and life into raising our children to the point where we forget or feel too exhausted to take care of ourselves.

To tell you the truth, it is not easy to always look good when you are a mother and there is no on-call babysitter around to lend a helping hand. There are days when I look like crap and feel so tired after working outside and doing 100 different things at home on top of chasing after a young one. Looking beautiful is about putting MUCH extra effort and get off your butts to groom yourself but after all said and done you feel great the minute you look into a mirror to see a differnt woman in reflection.

Is it just me or blogsphere has become such a quiet place in the last few weeks?

  1. I'm gonna make some noise here. It's not just you. I feel that blogosphere is indeed quite quiet these few weeks. The stats doesn't seem to have changed but there isn't much sign of feedback. Even my regular readers have stopped commenting.

I agree with you about how a woman should take care of herself and also to dress up a bit once in a while. There are times when I like to be relaxed and go out with just T shirt and shorts and no make up on. Those used to be rare. However of late, I've been doing this a lot. I'm getting a bit too lazy and comfortable.

    I love your bracelets!

  2. Did you change your blog outlook again? I feel that the header looks different or was I not observant enough?

  5. Definitely loving the lace, kinda girly and sexy at the same time. I think I dress better after having a blog. It motivate me to pick up my makeup brushes and dress better. Kids or no kids, (just harder with a baby hehe ) we should never let ourself go and not take care of our health and body so i agree with you Nelah!

I have been so busy that haven't had time to read blogs much. Still catching up after my vacay and planning another trip. I like your new blog layout Nelah- very pretty!

  7. Hi Nelah! I love this orange on you! I agree the blogesphere has been quiet but it seems like everyone has been super busy (including myself) so I haven't had much time to read blogs let along comment. Hope you're doing well!

  8. I wonder if that's because everyone's too busy updating their own blogs to read others :P I used to find it such a drag just getting dressed. For me, what made the difference was when I got rid of 85% of my wardrobe and continue culling every other month. It's so much easier to find my clothes. I also developed my own uniform which meant I could get dressed within 5 minutes. Previously, I had to plan my outfits the night before or else it could be chaos the next morning.
