There is a little story behind this bear. Dated back to December 2008, this bear was born. It was a snowy night...a very rare occasion in this city where snow is not common. I wandered into a craft store after work with my almost 9 month giant belly.
Slowly and carefully waddling like a miserable duck, hoping to find some "thank you" gifts for a few ladies at work who were so kind to throw me a baby shower. Found some cute naked bears, some idea
< lightened up in my little head. I could turn naked bears into something meaningful and cute. Grabbed those little hats...little bows...little tags...little flowers. Voila........nice little keepsakes

Fast forward to now August 2011, a lot of things have changed. Looking at this bear simply proves that life before and after a child is completely different, in the most wonderful and challenging ways.

Countless sleepless nights...sleep deprivation...exhaustion...mental breakdowns...eating cold food or no food at all...

Just like love that comes with pain...babies come with challenges

But so worth it....really

ReplyDeleteAwwww.. so cute. It's amazing how just a little teddy bear could hold such sentimental value. You're right, the sleep deprivation, the mental breakdowns (I've had more than a few), the eating over the sink, it's 100% worth it. You're a great mom- you are so proud of your daughter and it shows :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for following me, I am following you now as well. Love all the pictures you posted. Absolutely beautiful and priceless!

ReplyDeleteI feel really inspired reading posts like this about a mother's sacrifice. Recently whenever I meet up with various groups of girlfriends, we would start talking about whether or not to have kids. Surprisingly, many of my frenz who used to love kids and envisioned ourselves as young doting mommies all seem to be skewing towards being childless. The standard of living here is too high and a housing are sky high now. Many can't even afford the down payment for a house, much less the money on a kid. Some of them prefer to be childless as they know they would not make good mommies or else than they are too focused in their career or pursuing other of their goals. Some cited reasons of "countless sleepless nights...sleep deprivation...exhaustion...mental breakdowns...eating cold food or no food at all..." as what you said coz they see it in their friends with kids. I do recognise all these but deep down inside, I think that I would feel like you too, that it is all worth it. I hope to be a mommy one day. Well, only time would tell. Oh man, sorry that I always overshare and end up writing essays. Hope you don't find it a chore to read. I tend to rattle one about topics close to my heart.
