From Wild to Sweet~*

Having a child definitely brings out a child in you, it is so very true. My husband and I took our little girl to the Bayou Wildlife Park and experienced these animals up close and personal. How close? See it for yourself. It was so close that our little one freaked out. These deers were so so cute, they were actually like dogs following us everywhere (because I was holding food) and wiggled their tails in excitement.

Yay for me, I finally ventured out from "auto" mode to a "manual" mode on my DSLR with success for the first time without reading manual. Do you remember a book (Nikon D3100 for Dummies) that my husband kinly gave me awhile back? Yes..yes that book. I only read a few pages and gave up..pathetic I know but I am not fond of reading manual. Heck, I could figure out on my own eventually! This last picture of a donkey is my most favorite. The lighting and everything is just perfect. LOVE~

{Beautiful cakes from Asian bakery in Chinatown}
Seriously, these cakes are just too beautiful to eat!!!!!! We didn't have enough cash last time to buy all the eye candies so I kept on bugging my husband to go back. I won the battle! We went back and loaded on the carb goodness. Yumm!!!!!!!

  1. Hi Nelah, you always take such gorgeous photos. I'm like you, i really dislike reading manuals so I just try to figure stuff out on my own. That's the best way, I think! You looked like you had great family time at the animal farm, those animals looked so cute and you literally looked like you were inches away from their faces! The bracelet that you made is gorgeous, BTW. I definitely would love some arm candy like that :)

  2. WOW, you were close up with those animals! The deer pics are great, good job with the manual mode! I venture into that abyss now and then too, get scared and go back to auto. heehee....will figure it out someday!
    I love your bracelet by the way.
    Have a great weekend!

  3. OMG that cake looks so good! How come our Chinatown bakeries don't have anything that look like that? I am like you as well with manuals, I don't like those things. I need more of a DVD to show me step by step, manuals are confusing!

  5. Good hear see that you guys spent some time together. I read couple pages on the manual also just because I want to be able to use the video mode. I actually like to look online to look for different ways to enhance your photos and how to work the camera :)

  6. Love these photos! Is it sad that my husband and I don't have kids but we do all these kiddie/family things anyway? :P We're usually always the one couple w/o kids at these things!

  14. Ah!!! So fun and cute. I also want to be near the deer who followed like dogs. They must have been quite gentle? They look the part.

    You make me wanna get a DSLR too. I'm just afraid I would find it inconvenient to bring out since my hubby isn't the photographer sort of person and I think he might complain if I get him to sling the camera or the bag. Also, I'm soooooo lazy. I don't read manual too and I just play around with the camera and figure out how to do things. Nikon is like my favourite SLR but their lens cannot be interchanged with other brands so probably I would get a canon if I DO get a DSLR.

    I'm not too sure if you would find this site useful:

    My photographer friend said it's a great site for beginners and using SLR would be a lot easier with all these explanations.
