Face of the other day~*

{NYX Makeup Kit}

I do not normally put makeup on weekdays, but I do on weekends when I am a mom. I know I am on the opposite. My morning is rather hectic and short. Between getting myself and my little one ready, drop my daughter off at daycare and drive myself in a hurry to work, there is no time left to paint my face or groom my hair. I have to get up earlier if I choose to look all glam but I would rather sleep.

My morning makeup routine is far beyond basic - sunscreen, baby powder, eyebrow pencil, lipgloss or lipstick and a hair clip. Eyebrow pencil and lipstick are must-haves for me as a minimalist on work days. They give an instant boost of color when you don't have time. My coworkers pretty much get used to seeing my pale face, plus I am not in a position where I meet with customers all day long. I work in a corporate office environment but pretty casual, so lucky me.

Weekends are when I have more time to play and experiment with makeup. Applying makeup takes time...all that blending, building coverage and layering. I am thinking about going back to mineral foundation again because it saves time but they dry my skin with prolong use. So I am going back and forth on that option at the moment.

{Strawberry Poppy Salad with Chicken at Panera}

Onto food, salad and sandwiches are one of my favorite lunch options if we eat out, but not my husband's. I mean how many men are excited about chomping on green leafy thing as my husband refers to rabbit's food. Burgers and steaks are more meaty and masculine. I love Panera and I wish we go there more often. They have great variety of salad , soup and sandwiches to choose from. I am not too excited about their pastries though, they look better than their taste in my opinion.

  4. One of my cousins recently graduated from a school of cosmetology out in LA and she told me NYX is one of the best eyeshadow brands to use... I may have to look into it now that you've posted that pic! Your makeup looks great in that 2nd photo...AND salads are the best!

  10. I'm the same as you Nelah! I put on my not-so-basic-basic face on in the morning for work and I play around with new stuff on the weekends. I'm always in and out of the house on the weekends so if something is not suiting me or doesn't look right I can easily touch up or change it.

    You look soooo beautiful, I wish I had your skin!

    That makeup palette looks AMAZING! And I did a few eye looks with the palette I bought from you - I just need to detail which products I used ;)

  14. You definitely look pretty WITH or even WITHOUT makeup on. Even with makeup, you look like a natural beauty.

    Speaking of dry skin and cream, Im surprised the Creme de lamer is not doing much change. It's probably worth trying the Chanel precision line. One thing for sure is that all their product smell gorgeous and they are cheaper than Lamer! I have dry skin therefore their hydramax works for me. They are usually kind to let you try a free tester before committing to buy one (well at least in the UK)
