Hello...hello from a sick bloggerella. Despite a beautiful weekend, I felt crappy all weekend long with bad cold symptoms that my little one brought home with her last week from daycare. Yuck..yuck..and yuck, that is an inevitable part of being parents. You get sick more often when you have your little one in daycare or school. Those little people are such germy little guys/gals. Our house is a germ infested place at the moment since all three of us have been sick (I know you are glad I coundn't transmit any through a computer screen)..cough..cough. I may be disappearing for a little while from commenting on your blog until I recoup. Can't wait to catch up!!

One of the reasons I continue to blog is because of an interaction I get from “you” - my fellow bloggers and occasionally non-bloggers who stumble onto my blog. It means something extra special when someone takes their time to pour their heart out and write me a comment or give me a feedback (not included “nice blog”, “follow me back”, “wanna follow each other?” kind of comment). That definitely motivates and encourages me to write more..laugh more..think more and share more.
I do “not” comment on every blog I read. Most of the time, I open up a page, read and click “X” tab to exit. Those who I usually leave comment on are the ones I love to visit and I feel that I can relate to them in some way. Over the course of months of blogging, I have come across so many people and blogs. Among those blogs, there are some special bloggers who make my blogging journey MUCH MORE pleasant and enjoyable. You ladies prove to be "real", are simply awesome and have some interesting words of wisdom/opinion/fact to share.
I just want to dedicate this post to mention these fellow bloggers who are behind my motivations and inspirations when I am about to hit that "close this blog button".

You gals are my blogging fairy (if there is such thing...lol)

“I truly admire all of you and thank you very much”
Jo of Jo's Jumbled Jardiniere: you all may know Jo by now if you have read my blog. Jo always pours her heart out when commenting and I can’t tell her enough how I admire her honesty and comments.
Peh Sun of Squeeze the Pug: similar to Jo but Peh Sun writes a bit shorter :P I admire her as I get to know this lady. You have gotten to know her to prove why I feel that way. In her profession, she deals with human’s blood and guts, but in playtime you may get to peek into her amazing collection of handbags and accessories.
Bessie of Bravoe Runway: I don’t even remember when this stylish lady came into my (blog) life but boy I am glad I have met her. Not only she has an amazing style, she is a real sweetheart and she likes to guess what my real name would be.
Kim of Sassy Up Town Chic: Kim also deserves “best comment” award alongside Jo. She is straight to the point, downright honest and beyond sweet. I am always looking forward to seeing her comments and what she has to say about certain things.

Sharon of Make Mommy Chic: Sharon makes my day every single time I see her post. You can’t get any more “real” than Sharon. She is INCREDIBLY funny, hilarious, sincere and full of positive energy. Her posts always crack me up when she talks about her kids or other things in her life.
Yvonne of Simplyvonne: I feel that I can relate to Yvonne in many ways. We are mommies, we have little daughter, our parents live far away from us. Yvonne has an amazing taste in home decor and awesome/artistic photography skills (not to mention that cute little dumpling). Her blog is simply "lovely".

ReplyDeleteOh no Nelah,
ReplyDeleteI thought something was up. I have been religiously checking your page page (~ 20 times in the last 72 hours) but haven't seen an update. And NOoooo...that WASNT stalking btw. Very sorry to know that you were sick. Poor you. Yeah, my colleagues with little germy kids always seem to fall ill and occasionally share the present with the rest of the team. It's hard to imagine that those cute innocent little ones are like walking-mini-biohazards. Anyways, I hope you will get well soon in the next few days.
Dear dear Nelah, i can happily say that you are definitely one of the reason why I continue to blog. I hope I don't sound too poetic again but I definitely do feel the connection with yourself and few of the other ladies you have mentioned here in your post.
Funnily, I just woke up from a stupid nightmare about 15 minutes ago. I dreamt that my work place found out that I was blogging and was told to stop because it was not professional (must be work-related stress involved). I was so upset because they didn't understand that there is more to blogging than that meets the eyes. It's not just about fashion, not just design or just a random space to regurgitate one's thoughts. Now that I have a clear mind (and totally bright-eyed awake), I can confidently say I know why I really want to blog or continue to blog: As what you've say, it's the connections you create with your few fellow readers. Certainly, some acquaintances have turned out into simple friendships or even admiration.
I can't help but to grin at what you wrote about me. I think I am honoured to know that I am similar to Jo, minus the PhD thesis writing!!! ( haha, Jo, the good thing about blogosphere is that you can't pinch or hit me even if provoked).
Ok, I should now stop, so that there is more space for Jo and Kim and the other lovely ladies to write. Otherwise, you will need to change to another blog site with more bandwidth. :P
p/s: You got the riddle right!
Hi Nelah ~ That was soo sweet that you mentioned my blog! I feel truly grateful :) Ever since I came across your blog I loved how you were totally honest and sincere with your audience plus the added fashion aspect to it too!!
ReplyDeleteHope you get better soon! and looking forward to your "annoying commenters" blog! haha
What a fun post....nice to see you:)
ReplyDeleteStatements in Fashion
Nelah, you always leave me speechless (and, if you ask my friends/family- that is pretty much an impossible so congrats on that!). There are literally no words to describe how incredible you are. Even though parts of you are anonymous, there are so many things about you that transpire through the screen: your honesty, your 'niceness' (is that even a word?), the love you feel for your family and your readers. I always look forward to reading a new post, it always brightens up my day and thank you so much for the shout out. You. Are. Awesome. And I am sending you positive health vibes so that you feel better soon. But on the positive side of those little germ infested buggers, hopefully they'll help you develop an immune system of steel!! Get better soon :)
ReplyDeletethank you Nelah for the sweet words! I really love your writing and it is definitely very honest. I do love all the blogs you mentioned and I completely agree with you on how lovely they are. Truly inspiring women. I too dont normally comment on every blog since I dont have time to do so. I actually get annoyed when ppl leave me a msg saying please follow my blog and I'll do the same haha
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better! Im going to get the flu shot this year so that I dont get sick and get K sick. Good thing she's not in daycare yet cuz im pretty sure she'll get sick from other kids.
Hi Nelah, Halen, Mary....LOL! Thank you so much for mentioning me and it is always a delight to read our post! I'm sorry to have been MIA for a few days, crazy busy at home and also, I think you are one of the most sincere people I've met in the blogosphere! I hope you feel better soon, I caught that sinus infection a few weeks ago...just the day before the target/missoni collaboration...yeah it was a sign! lol!!
ReplyDeleteLMAO @ Bessie! HAHAHAHAHA Nelah, I hope you feel better soon girl. It's rough being sick! Where there's a cold, I will surely catch and harbor it! Wait, let me disinfect this screen and keyboard while I'm typing. I'll probably catch one just discussing this. HAHAHA But I hope you get better soon. I'm still trying to catch up on blog comments...DAY 2! HAHA Secondly, thank you so much for your sweet comments about me and this award. All of the ladies, you mentioned above are AWESOME and I thoroughly enjoy talking to them as much as I do with you. There's never any stress and it just comes naturally. You have truly introduced me to some great people and that is an EXTENSION OF WHO YOU ARE! (((HUG MY FRIEND))) I love you girl! ((HUG))

Wow, there's my name on YOUR BLOG!! I'm honored, thank you so very much for the mention! I hope you are feeling better, I was so sick last week, maybe we really are passing it through the blogosphere! ; P
ReplyDeleteTake care, girlfriend!
Aww... I wanted to call you Enlah but your evilness hasn't emerged yet so NELAH, thank you so much for this award! I'm happy to know how a handful of us could be behind your motivation and inspiration. It's really an honour to be mentioned here. I still blush at my long thesis but hey that's me... full of words.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I got to know the lovely ladies that you've mentioned too. They're really such sweet people and I know that I would be checking out their blogs quite often too.
I hope you are recovering fast. Take that Vitamin C. Small little wonders to keep any little sickness at bay. I'm also a little sick yesterday and today. I don't know what my sickness is but I kept sleeping and sleeping and now I feel normal. Perhaps your little germs waft through your screen and infected me? lol.
Peh Sun is so funny! I literally laughed at my screen when I read about her dream. I will find a chance to pinch her if I could and give her a big hug too. And you too!
I shall stop here and give Peh Sun a chance to beat me in writing a thesis.
Nelah, you've awarded some of my favorite bloggers. You couldn't have picked better people. Sharon and Kim are two of the kindest and sweetest people I know who never fail to say something uplifting and considerate.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon. The cold bug is doing its round again. We've all been sick and fingers crossed, no one catches it again!
