I would like to do a quick post in response to PetiteLittleGirl's request - my wedding dresses. Flipping through the wedding albums was like walking down the memory lane. Pictures look a bit antique because they were from 6 years ago and we didn't have a digital camera back then so I had to scan these pictures. As mentioned earlier, I wish I could have picked a professional photographer to capture my "once in a lifetime moment" because none of my pictures look decent, abosolutely not the way I wanted. This photographer had no artistic vision whatsoever -_-
I wore two dresses on my wedding day. For the morning ceremony, I wore this traditional Thai dress in gold which looked similar to below picture. My dress was custom made based on the picture I saw in a magazine.
For the reception at night, I chose this gown because it looked quite unique. As soon as I tried it on..I knew it was the one. Hunting for the perfect wedding dress was not as fun as I thought it would be, especially when an excitment turned into a frustration. I couldn't remember how many gowns I had tried before I found the one. I was looking for a picture that would show the cute details of the back but there was zero - thanks to the photographer!

My facial expression in some of these pictures are too funny so I had to blanked them out...hope you don't mind. As for the husband, I think he would appreciate some privacy by not posting his face all over the internet lol.
So that was it. I am determined to have our pictures taken by a "real" prefessional photographer next year. It would be nice to actually own a wedding album that I can look over and over, and would not go..yikes!!

The white wedding dress looks so soft and light... very feminine! I never knew what a traditional Thai wedding dress looks like... can you wear it in any color or is there a specific wedding color?
ReplyDeleteWe had our wedding album done back home and it was super nice. I am glad I did it. I was scared at first but the it turned out pretty well. I do like your white wedding dress. Like PetiteXXS said, it looks very feminine
ReplyDeleteMaddalena: thank you for your comment.
ReplyDeletePetiteXXS: most people choose white or ivory but there is no set rule really. Traditional dress is worn during the Buddhist ceremony in the morning. Since the reception gown is white so I wanted a different color.
PetiteLittleGirl: yes I like my white wedding dress. I just wish we had photos taken in a studio setting. I plan on getting something like that done on my next trip..I hope two weeks will be enough.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos...you know, it's never too late to get the wedding photos of your dreams. My grandparents just got a wedding set done (almost at age 80!) and they came out fantastic. I'm big on photos and am willing to spend a lot, because time is fleeting and I love having photos to document each stage in my life. My bf and I paid a lot for our 5 year anniversary photos but we were very pleased with them. We didn't do a studio setting but opted for more modern photographers (to give you an idea of their style, their site is http://www.justinmarantz.com). Good luck in your search, and hopefully you are 100% pleased this time!
ReplyDeleteJean: thank you for the website, it gives me a lot of ideas. Oh wow your grandparents rock! I bet their photos are very cute. I browsed your older posts and saw a few pics of you and your sweetheart, both of you look great together.
