Perfect fitting may not be just a dream anymore..

First of all, I do not get paid by this company but I am just SO thrilled to share my latest little find ;)

Would not it be nice if we can customize our clothes to fit perfectly and alter it anyway we want (short/long or no sleeve, differnt neckline designs, or lenght adjustment)? I am surprised that no one in the petite community mentions about this company "Eshakti" (did I miss something??). This company sounds almost like a dream comes true for someone like me who have such a hard time finding clothes that fit.

I found this website while I was wandering around non petite fashion blogs the other day. The idea of having my clothes customized to fit my body at a reasonable price sounds very appealing. I was litterally thrilled! Their customer feedbacks are mostly positive and Eshakti offers simple, no hassle, money-back guarantee and fast delivery. Website is easy to navigate and user friendly. They offer two options - you can go with standard sizing (no extra charge) or custom size/custom style for an extra $7.50. If you choose to go with custom size and style, you will include your height, measurements and your preferences on top/dress/sleeve lenghts. Honestly, their prices appear reasonable in the ranges of $50 and up. I love love love their vision statment and wish more companies would provide this option.

Our Vision:

• One size does not fit all and all sizes are not created equal. For too long women have been forced to conform to standard sizing that too often doesn’t fit properly.

• At eShakti, a woman can shop for exactly what she wants - no compromise, no premium to pay. She can ask for the fabric, color, body, styling and sizing that she likes. Never again will a woman have to hear that her size is not available.

Their dress section is my favorite. Most of their dresses are so adorable and chic. However, their pants and top sections are too "exotic" for my liking. It would be even better if they would consider adding business/work outfits to their collection.

Below are some of my favorite items.

These pictures are from Eshakti website

Pleat waist cotton poplin dress - I fall in love with this poplin dress in wild orchid color. So feminine yet chic enough to pair it with a blazer or a sweater for work. It comes in a wide variety of color.

Layered pleats cotton dress - It also comes in different colors; red, turquoise, royal blue and lime green.

Lace trim pleated chambray dress - This is such a cute dress with a little bit of sexiness. It looks casual and stylish.

Cotton poplin rosette trim dress - how adorable this canary yellow little dress looks?

Floral embroidered color block dress - I can see myself wearing this dress and keep it below knee lenght or at knee lenght.

I am extremly tempted to order one of these items to see how great the fitting and fabric quality are. I hope the fabric will not be too thin to where you can see the underwear! Most items are cotton and machine washable which is a BIG plus for me (I hate bringing my clothes to the dry clean!). I am wondering how well these dresses will return to their original shape after the 1st wash. I guess I will have order it to find out, huh?

If you are interested in ordering from Eshakti, you can simply register with their website and you will save $15 on your first order, or use a promo code here to get 10% discount through 7/31/10. I am having a tough decision to make between the first Pleat waist dress and the last one Floral embroidered block dress! Or should I get both o_o?

  2. Interesting! I remember AN posting about custom clothing from Etsy but I guess this is a whole company! I took a quick look at their size chart I'm sized off the chart again, but I guess that doesn't matter if they offer custom sizing? Do let us know how it turns out if you decide to order! :)

  3. Sydney and PetiteXXS: I am going to place my order tonight. I still cant decide which one(s) to get but I definitely want to give this company a try and let you all know. I guess I may be the first blogger in the petite community to give it a shot.

I especially thought about you, PetiteXXS, because you are on a smaller size. You can do custom size for a better fit and pay $7.50. I have never brought my clothes to get altered so i have no idea how much alterations usually cost. The way this company offers custom sizing, i do feel like having a previlege.

While my bust size falls in their "0", my waist and hips are not going to fit in size 0 so I will have to do a custom sizing for my order. I am so excited!! Please stay tuned.

  4. I'm usually skeptical of these "pick your measurements from the dropdown menu" companies b/c they never go down small enough to fit someone like itty bitty ol' me (or PetiteXXS!), but it looks like this company could work. Their bust, hip and waist options go as small as 22 inches!

Good find Nelah! I'll be keeping a lookout for your review.

  11. PetiteLittleGirl: I guess I will not know what their clothes are like because I registered with the website last Thursday. Supposedly, I should have received an email that came with $15 for the first order but it never arrived. I also made an attempt to order online but the website experienced some technical problems so I quit. I contact eShakti but haven't heard back.

Collin Budd: I guess you can blame me. You sound like a sweet boyfriend, I am sure your girlfriend is very much appreicated that you shower her with love and pamper her with clothes.

  12. I have ordered three dresses from eShakti myself, and am very happy with 2 of them and pretty happy with the 3rd (the sizing is good but the neckline requires me to wear a cami underneath to stay decent). I have only tried day dresses from them, and have gotten a lot of compliments -- I've gone for the slightly retro knee-length cotton dresses. They are comfortable and pretty durable.

I've only used custom sizing from them as I'm short and very short-waisted and have too much curve to my figure for a lot of store-bought clothes. (The dress I mentioned above -- the one I wear a cami with -- I can wear without a cami if I want to be a little racy. With store-bought wrap-style dresses I'm so busty I can't stay at *all* decent!) I like the slightly retro dresses because the designs flatter curvy, small women. I am sure that there are designs that are good for a variety of shapes!

Their shipping is very fast. My dress last week came from Chennai to Minnesota in three days, as promised. I did have a lot of trouble with the website the first time I ordered, but not this time.
