Travel in Style Part I: Hello Cocoa Beach~*

What a wonderful birthday celebration this week...my husband and I have been in Florida since Thursday. The best part? I didn't have to pay for this trip!!! Long story short, it was a company sponsored trip which covered all my expenses from plane ticket, hotel, car rental, meals and related costs. I didn't have to use my vacation for being away from work either. There was an option to bring a guest so I tagged along the husband. All we paid was his portion on plane ticket and meals. What a deal!!!

This trip came by as a surprise. As we traveled to Bangkok just a few months ago this year and pretty much exhausted our vacation so we didn't expect any trip for the remainder of 2011. We didn't feel rested at all during our two weeks in BKK with a two year old though. However, someone up above was so very kind and sent us off for a chance of a lifetime (you will find out what it is in the next post)

It is nice to be able to wear flip flop all the way to Florida. Tennis shoes are always my first choice for travel but this trip is a bit different. I mean, come on who doesn't wear sandals/flip flops on the beach, right?

Yummy times!!! For lunch, we ate at "Florida Seafood". Kind of bland. At dinner time, we dined at "The Fat Snook" which is a nice little restaurant. The ambience is great - romantic and beautiful. The best part, food was excellent. I order Poblano & Pesto Marinaded Shrimps with Pumupkin Cheddar Grits. OMG...very rich but sooooooooooo good. The husband ordered catch of the day which we couldn't remember the name of that fish but was excellent. No room left for dessert though.

Ron Jon - it is probably the most famous and biggest surf shop in this area (perhaps?) One stop shop for all your beach nessesscities from surfboards, swimsuits, sandals to souvenirs. My husband saw a sign that says they are open 24 hours. Crazy!!!!! This place must be a paradise for hardcore surfers and shoppers whenever an urge to shop strike!

Overall, Cocoa beach is an old and small town. If you are a party gal or guy, you may enjoy Miami or Orlando better. The beach is pretty, I can just sit there...take a deep breath of fresh air.....enjoy the sea breeze.... and leave stress behind.

Since I have TONS of pictures, I will break my travel into several posts so you won't be overwhemled / dizzy with my photos :)

    I'm so glad you had a good time! I'm sorry we weren't able to get together. That Ron Jon's is literally RIGHT across the street from my father-in-law's condo. And yet I've never been there. Even with the Starbucks inside!
